What it does

Checks that these abbreviations use the correct punctuation: i.e., e.g., and et al.. A comma after i.e. or e.g. is not required by this rule.

Why is this bad?

These are misspellings.

The abbreviation i.e. is correct.
The authors et. al. are listed.
The authors et al. are listed.
